Call for Expression of Interest: Shared Scientific Activities

Shared scientific activities – October to December 2022

A shared calendar of scientific events

The GlobalMed network has two types of activities:

– A calendar of shared scientific events throughout the year

– An annual meeting of partners.

The calendar of shared activities within the network is composed of scientific events whose subject matter falls within the network’s themes and which can be shared via videoconference or podcast.

This calendar is established at the beginning of each semester, after a call for expressions of interest sent to GlobalMed’s partners and validation by the network’s scientific committee. Communication of the announcement and of the means of sharing the event is ensured by the network’s coordination committee via the GlobalMed site and by sending emails to the network’s representatives, who relay the information to their scientific community via their own communication media.

Partners may participate in the annual meetings and propose scientific activities (seminars, colloquia, round tables, conferences, etc.) for the coming academic semester, the format of which allows for sharing with the community, within the limit of one proposal per partner and per semester. To do so, they must respond to the following call for expressions of interest.

Scientific event proposal

Each partner has the possibility to propose a scientific event for the next semester (from 1 October 2022 to 31 December 2022), which corresponds to the following criteria:

– The subject of the event must be in line with the thematic axes of the GlobalMed network

– It must be a scientific event open to the academic public (including students), for example: a seminar, a round table, a workshop, a colloquium, a conference or other

– The scientific event must be able to be shared remotely, by videoconference or by podcast (see the vademecum below).

Form of the proposals

Proposals should be sent to annabelle.gallin@univ-amu.fr  before September 30th 2022.

They should include:

– Title and subtitle of the event

– Abstract and/or programme

– Date(s)

– Nature of the event

– Language(s)

– Media to be shared

– Name(s) of organiser(s)

– Link and contact.

Vademecum for sharing scientific events

Who can propose an event to be shared?

Any member of a GlobalMed partner institution or research group from the PhD level upwards. Each partner may propose a maximum of one event per semester.

Organisation of the video recording or videoconference

It is the partner institution or research group that implements the video recording or the video-conference device. It informs the stakeholders of the sharing of the video or video-conference within the network and obtains their consent. He/she ensures that the image rights and personal data protection of the participants are respected.

What information is needed for sharing?

The partner institution or research group sends to the network coordinators the event poster, its (pre-)programme, the links needed to register for the event to receive the connection links or the links to connect directly to the live event.

How is this information relayed?

On the GlobalMed research notebook: one article detailing the bi-annual programme, one article per shared activity detailing the programme and how it is shared.

E-mails: announcement of the biannual programme and reminders for each activity
